SEIU 503 Scholarship Programs

SEIU Local 503, OPEU, offers two types of one-year scholarship awards to active members, their spouses, their domestic partners*, their children, and even their grandchildren.

You must be an active SEIU Local 503, OPEU, member for one year in order to be eligible to apply for these scholarships.

SEIU scholarship oppportunities
The deadline for the 2008-2009 school year was March 1, 2008.

Financial Aid Award. An award of $500 per school year is offered to students entering an accredited institution of higher learning in the United States.
Grant-in-Aid Award. An award of $750 per school year will enable current students to remain enrolled in any accredited institution of higher learning.

Part-time enrollment (minimum of 6 credit hours) or enrollment in graduate programs will be considered only for active members, their spouses, or laid-off members.

Detailed eligibility rules are available at SEIU Local 503, OPEU. Applications are accepted during the late fall to early winter months of the year.

* Domestic partners must complete an Affidavit of Domestic Partnership (pdf) and have it on file at the SEIU Local 503, OPEU benefits office.
